About Kate Ryan

My name is Kate Ryan, and I started writing this blog as an outlet for my (many) opinions. Why the “Kitchen Table”? Because when I was growing up there was no subject that was too controversial, too weird, or too messy to discuss at my parent’s kitchen table. This is where I learned to think out an issue, frame arguments, and value other people’s opinions. Too many people these days don’t talk around their kitchen tables – so I invite you to talk around mine.
On a personal note, I hail from Western New York. I am married with one daughter – who is on her way to college next year – and I have been professionally employed at the same place for 24 years. I am a proud Union member and have a growing appreciation for European Social Democracy.
I hope that you enjoy discussing issues with me. I am looking forward to it!
