Enough is Enough is Enough September 16, 2008

Posted by Kate Ryan in Economy, National Politics, Republicans.

The stock market dropped over 500 points yesterday and John McCain says the economy is “fundamentally strong”.  (Actually, he was reading it off cue cards – but who’s quibbling).

When his advisors whispered to him that the Democrats might take issue with that, he morphed his statement into some claptrap about the “entreprenurial spirit”, “productivity”, and goodness of the American worker.  Yes, Mr. McCain, but if the worker DOESN”T HAVE A JOB, he can’t be any of these things.

I, for one, have had enough of this bullshit.  I’ve had enough of a candidate who proclaims he knows what we’re going through when he’s a gazillionaire with nine homes – each of which has a household staff.  I’ve had enough of his running mate who say’s she can identify with me as a “regular American” when her job as governor paid over $125K per year (and who’s husband ALSO made over $100K) and she still charged all her meals & incidentals – and even her mortgage – to the State of Alaska.  I have had enough of the McCain-Palin ticket running away from the failures of George Bush, when their economic platform is 90% identical.  I have had enough of the “Obama will raise your taxes” scare when it is JOHN MCCAIN who will have the government TAX your health care benefits (if you have them).  When it is JOHN MCCAIN whose tax plan will decrease any middle-class income (see http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/11/news/economy/candidates_taxproposals_tpc/index.htm )
